Kidoro — Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Kidoro ("the app") collects, what it does not, and who else is involved. It applies to the Kidoro Android application (com.kidoro).

1. What stays on your device

Kidoro is built to keep your household's information local. The following is stored only in the app's private storage on your phone, and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else:

• Children's names, nicknames and birthdays
• Photos you choose as a child's avatar, and any photos attached to chores
• Chores, schedules, reminders, point values and completion history
• Rewards, redemptions, point balances, streaks and savings goals
• Your settings, chosen theme and language
• Backup files you create

There is no account to create, nothing to sign in to, and no cloud sync. We operate no server that receives this information, because none exists.

Backups are files you create and control. Kidoro writes a backup where you tell it to; from that point the file is yours, and anywhere you copy it to (a cloud drive, a computer, a messaging app) is governed by that service's own policy, not this one.

2. What is collected and sent

2.1 Crash reports — Google Firebase Crashlytics

Kidoro sends automatic crash and error reports so faults can be found and fixed. This is handled by Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service.

A report may include:

• The technical details of the crash (stack trace, error message)
• Device model, operating system version and app version
• Device state at the time, such as available memory and orientation
• A Crashlytics installation identifier — a random id generated for the installation, used to group crashes from the same device

Crash reports do not contain your children's names, photos, chores, points, or any other content you entered into the app.

2.2 Advertising — Google AdMob

The free version of Kidoro shows ads, served by Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect and use:

• Your device's advertising identifier
• Approximate location derived from your IP address
• Which ads were shown, and whether they were interacted with
• General device and app information

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Kidoro shows a consent prompt before personalised advertising is used, provided through Google's User Messaging Platform. You may change or withdraw that choice at any time from within the app. If you decline, ads are still shown but are non-personalised.

Purchasing any paid version of Kidoro removes all advertising, and with it the data collection described in this section.

2.3 Purchases — Google Play Billing

Paid versions of Kidoro are sold through Google Play. Your payment is handled entirely by Google. Kidoro never receives or stores your card details, billing address or any other payment information — it is told only whether a valid purchase exists, so it can unlock the paid features and remove ads.

3. Children's information

Kidoro is designed for parents and guardians to manage a household. It is not directed at children, is not distributed in Google Play's Kids category, and children are not expected to create accounts or use it independently.

Information a parent enters about a child — name, nickname, birthday, photo, chores and points — is stored only on the device and is never transmitted to us or to any third party. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because we do not collect the household's information at all.

The advertising described in section 2.2 is not directed at children and is served on the basis that the person using the app is an adult.

4. Permissions Kidoro requests

• Notifications — to show chore reminders and the daily summary. These are generated on your device; nothing is sent anywhere.
• Exact alarms — so a reminder set for a specific time arrives at that time.
• Run at startup — so scheduled reminders survive a restart.
• Photos — only when you choose a picture, through your device's own picker. Kidoro receives the single image you select and does not browse your gallery.
• Internet — used only by the services in section 2.

5. Keeping and deleting your data

• On your device: data is kept until you delete it in the app or uninstall Kidoro. Uninstalling removes all of it. We cannot recover it for you afterwards, because we never had it.
• Crash reports: retained by Google according to Firebase Crashlytics' own retention schedule.
• Advertising data: retained and used by Google under its own policies. You can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device's settings, under Privacy or Ads.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR in the EEA and UK — you may have rights to access, correct, export or erase personal data held about you.

For the household information Kidoro stores, you can exercise all of these yourself and without asking us: it is on your device, you can view and edit it in the app, export it with the built-in backup, and erase it by deleting it or uninstalling. We hold no copy.

For data held by Google as described in section 2, requests must go to Google, since Google is the controller of that data. Their policies are linked below.

Where we rely on consent — specifically for personalised advertising in the EEA, UK and Switzerland — you can withdraw it at any time through the in-app privacy options.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it, and the current version will always be available at this address. Material changes to what is collected will also be reflected in the app's Data Safety information on Google Play.
